Perfect time for an online support group

Whatever our circumstances, I think we would all agree these past weeks have been difficult, to say the least.

Everyone of us has a story to tell and I invite you to turn to this blog if you need support, or if you just want to tell your story.  If you do not have anyone to have a ‘proper’ conversation with, why not speak to others through my blog.

For some of us, it’s difficult to find someone to talk to about some things that are only felt by women at a certain time in their life.  For instance, there’s lots written and said about the menopause,  but what about after?  Not much said about that and how we’re supposed to feel and what’s normal.  I’m sure lots of you agree it can be as much of an emotional upheaval as going through it, especially when it comes to our internal self-image.

And what about ‘empty-nest syndrome’?  Some will welcome the freedom this brings, some will not and will miss their children enormously and find it really difficult to adjust.

Losing your husband or partner can be one of the hardest things to bear and suddenly finding yourself living alone, possibly after many years with your other half, can be quite daunting.

Building an online support group for older women is something I think is needed, so if you find yourself in any of the situations I’ve written about here, or there is something else you want to talk about, why not use my blog to speak to others.

I am an older woman who thinks of women in my age group as being an untapped source of information derived from life experiences and I believe this amounts to a ‘universal’ wisdom connecting us wherever we are in the world. I want to attract like-minded older women from across the world to share their views and ideas, because I am convinced we can find ways where our wisdom can really make a difference.
